HGB, the Hamburg-based specialist annual reports agency, was presented a number of internationally coveted trophies at this year's ARC Awards in New York. The agency's record of success includes three Gold, four Silver, four Bronze and two Honors Awards. HGB's reports for the Deutsche Telekom AG, the Deutsche Lufthansa AG and the Würth Group won the Gold Awards and are now nominees for the Grand Awards. These "Oscars" of the annual report world will be presented on 22 September 2011 in New York. Read more about it here.

The big German companies are in the process of significantly changing their way of reporting about financial figures, management and on their ecological and social commitment. Annual and sustainability reports are gradually merging into one; the internet, social networks and mobile communication are becoming more and more significant for financial communications. These are the result of a survey conducted among well-known IR and communication experts, which the Hamburg-based agency will present at their "Summer Lounge" customer event on June 12th, 2011. In addition to conducting the expert survey, HGB has analysed the annual reports from the DAX segments for the trend report "DAX Reports 2010". The annual report needs to become a responsibility report. HGB recommends the principles of the "honourable merchant" as a guideline for this new way of reporting. This is done with the firm conviction that the business report has to become an instrument for communicating with all of the company's stakeholders. For this reason, it has to make corporate responsibility a much more extensive topic. "After all the corruption and spying scandals in large corporations, after the financial crisis and the BP disaster, the issue of corporate responsibility has become more relevant than ever before", said Peter Poppe, HGB's managing partner, before the day of the conference and the opening of the ANNUAL REPORTS exhibition.
